7th grade students expanded their mythology unit in the library this week with a breakout game. They used literature, cyphers, and teamwork to answer questions and solve puzzles. Amazing work Warriors! 📚🗝️🔓

WESTVIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL COLOR RUN FRIDAY, APRIL 24

We have some fantastic news. The South Carolina Department of Education has awarded Westview Middle School as a Palmetto Silver Award School! As an important part of the education accountability system in South Carolina, the Awards program is designed to recognize and reward schools for attaining high levels of absolute performance, for attaining high rates of growth, and for making substantial progress in closing the achievement gap between disaggregated groups. We couldn't have achieved this honor without the hard work and dedication of our teachers and staff paired with a fantastic community. Go Warriors!

Today we held our final Principal's breakfast where students with 3rd quarter straight "A's" were celebrated. Dr. Bradley and Mr. Kohler cooked up some pancakes while students were able to relax with friends and pick up a token of our appreciation for their hard work.

Our talented musicians took the stage at the South Carolina Band Directors Association Concert Performance Assessment and delivered a performance for the books. We are thrilled to announce that the band earned a SUPERIOR rating!

This achievement is a testament to the countless hours of practice, discipline, and teamwork these students have poured into their music this year. A massive thank you to our teachers, parents, and the Westview community for your unwavering support.

Way to go, Warriors! We couldn’t be prouder.

The wait is finally over! After weeks of careful observation, charting growth, and a lot of "shhh... they're sleeping" moments, Mrs. Howard’s class officially said goodbye to our fluttery friends today.

It’s been a fun journey watching them transform from tiny caterpillars to beautiful Painted Ladies. Our students learned firsthand about the magic of metamorphosis, and Friday was the perfect afternoon for a release.

In case you missed it, Westview Middle School's robotics team is headed to state! It's a story for the ages. A first year program, a teacher new to the school with a passion for Career and Technical Education, students with no robotics background. They were knocked out in a qualifying round, and were selected as a wildcard. They came back in the preliminary rounds and earned the right to go to compete in Lexington! Keep an eye out Friday morning for a piece by Live 5 News!

🤖 Our 7th graders are diving deep into the world of robotics! This week, they visited the library to explore and interact with our amazing collection of robots as part of their research unit in ELA. From coding to problem solving, students are discovering how technology shapes our future. Watching them explore, ask questions, and imagine the possibilities was amazing. Great job, warriors!
