Our Wellness Program has adopted Charlie from Landsdowne Dairy in Bowman, South Carolina through the Adopt-A-Cow Program!
Last week, Ms. Black’s fourth grade class engaged in this hands-on learning experience—bringing agriculture, science, responsibility, and real-world connections directly into the classroom.
Students will receive updates, photos, and growth milestones as they follow Charlie’s journey throughout the year. We’re excited to watch our calf grow and to continue learning together!

Over the past three weeks, students visiting the library were introduced to Beanstack by Mrs. Young. Beanstack is a fun and competitive way to log reading minutes and strengthen our literacy skills.
In just three weeks, our Loggerheads have logged 83,253 minutes and are finishing in the top 10 each week amongst all BCSD schools. Keep reading and logging those minutes, Loggerhead readers!
Loggerhead Leader of the Day goes to Maxwell Fink! Maxwell stands out for his positive attitude, respectful behavior, and willingness to help others. He consistently gives his best effort and sets a great example for his classmates. Way to go, Maxwell!

We are so grateful to have her making waves in our school community!

Carolyn Lewis School is excited to announce that we are one of ten Berkeley County schools selected to receive a $1,000 Sensory Garden Grant through the MUSC Boeing Center for Children’s Wellness.
As part of this pilot program, The Sensory Garden Advisory Team created a guide to help us implement a successful hands-on wellness and learning space on campus. We can’t wait to grow this special space for our students!
