📚 MMSOA Made Scholastic Book Fair School History!📚

Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair was the most successful one we’ve ever had.
💥 Over 900 items were sold, putting more books than ever into the hands (and hearts!) of our student readers. That’s real momentum for literacy, joy, and imagination in our school community.
🗣️📖 When students are given voice and choice in what they read, they want to read. Selecting books that feel exciting, relevant, funny, mysterious, comforting, or even a little spooky empowers them as readers—and that freedom builds a lifelong love of reading.
❤️ Thanks to the generosity of our families and community, we also collected almost $200 in Share the Fair donations. Those funds allowed us to purchase books for students who weren’t able to buy their own—because every student deserves to experience the excitement of choosing a new book.
🌟 Your support truly matters. When students, families, and staffulty come together around reading, we’re not just building a stronger library…we’re building a stronger culture of confident, independent, joyful readers. Let’s keep growing readers, one story at a time.
📚Save the date: Our winter book fair will be held February 4th-6th and 9th-12th.

Our admin team and library crew are deeply grateful for every shopper, donor, and literacy supporter who helped make this fair such a success. Your partnership fuels everything we do for readers at MMSOA. Thank you, MMSOA—your love for books makes a real difference.

MMSOA’s Craft Corner gathered this week to design decorative fall containers bursting with creativity and color! Both students and staffulty took part in this fun, hands-on activity — proof that when we create and connect together, we build the relationships that make Marrington feel like home. 💛❤️💙 Mrs. Courtney and Mrs. Fisher lead Craft Corner each quarter with the goal of giving our school community a creative outlet that brings smiles, laughter, and connections.

✨ Our ELA students are diving into the 20 South Carolina Junior Book Award Nominees for 2025–2026 during library lessons with Mrs. Courtney and Mrs. Fisher!

Students rotated through engaging stations—exploring books and watching book trailers. The goal...to spark curiosity and build excitement for this year’s nominees! To kick things off, one lucky winner per class was chosen at random to receive a nominee of their choice! 📚

Students who read at least 3 nominees and log their reading with responses in Beanstack will be invited to a special literacy celebration in February where they’ll get to vote for their favorite book. 🗳️

All votes from across the state will be combined to crown the official South Carolina Junior Book Award winner! 🎉

Way to go, Monarchs—let’s read, celebrate, and make our voices count!
