Berkeley County School District will utilize the Teacher Workday/Inclement Weather Day on October 11 as a weather make-up, e-Learning Day for students, as designated in the BCSD Instructional Calendar. This adjustment is necessary due to the postponement of the first day of school from August 14 to August 15, following impacts of Tropical Storm Debby.

Ms. Morris Passed the Buck to Ms. Stutz today. Ms. Stutz is such a valued and respected member of BHS. Ms. Morris said she is one of the absolute best, and I couldn't do my job without her. Congratulations Ms. Stutz!


Due to forecasted impacts of Hurricane Helene, Berkeley County School District (BCSD) students will learn from home and complete eLearning Day assignments on Friday, September 27. All after-school activities and after-school care programs will close at 6 p.m. this evening.
All schools and offices will be closed Friday, and before and after-school care programs are canceled. As the storm system is projected to move out of the area that afternoon, after school activities may resume after 4 p.m. on Friday.


Ms. Austin Passed the Buck to Ms. Morris this week. Ms. Morris is such a valued team member at BHS, who is constantly giving her absolute best for her students and fellow staff members. Congratulations, Ms. Morris!

Mr. Gaters Passed the Buck to Ms. Austin this week. Ms. Austin is one of the absolute best math teachers at BHS, who is always willing to help her students do their best and learn everything about Geometry. Thank you for all you do, Ms. Austin!


The Renaissance Team had a great week. They sponsored the Smash Car for our students, celebrated students of the week with free Chick-fil-A, and ended the week with a fun student section at the football game. We can't wait to see what fun activities they bring to BHS this week. #BetteratBerkeley






The buck was passed to Mr. Gaters this week. Mr. Gaters has been an instrumental member of the BHS staff for many years. The work he does with his welding students is unmatched and many of his students are in welding careers thanks to his mentorship and work. Congratulations, Mr. Gaters and thanks for all that you do!


#ICYMI: Our first place National Beta Convention winners and first place SC FBLA State Competition winners were recognized at this week's board meeting.




We had a blast today. Renaissance started the day with High-five Friday and recognizing our students and Staffulty of the month. We celebrated August birthdays with cupcakes at all the lunches and had the ultimate dodge ball tournament at each lunch. Today was so much fun!









Mr. Polk "passed the buck" to Ms. DelSignore. Mr. Polk said, "Ms. DelSignore has worked tirelessly to build our Blue Brigade into something that would allow our students to grow and expand. Many of those students have gone on to college bands or become music teachers themselves. Her program illustrates the excellence of Berkeley High School." Congratulations Ms. DelSignore!


We hope that students feel even more connected to BHS after our club fair today. Thanks to all the clubs that participated during all 3 lunches.






The BHS Guidance Department will host a Senior Information Night for all seniors and their parents on Wednesday, September 4th, at 6:00 PM in the Auditorium. All seniors and their parents are encouraged to attend. Some of the topics that will be covered include graduation requirements, senior dues and ordering senior supplies, senior pictures and yearbooks, military information, Trident Tech dual enrollment classes, college applications and scholarships, how to order a transcript, taking the SAT and ACT, and much, much more! Please join us on Wednesday, September 4th, so your student will be prepared for Senior year and beyond!


We had a big day at BHS on Friday. We started our day with welcoming our students with music and fun at High 5 Friday. We had tug-of- war challenges at every lunch for free Chick-fil-A. The Renaissance team recognized 4 students that have shown the Stag Pride trait of Perseverance. It was a great first full week at BHS, and we can't wait for next week.










Ms. Brown passed the buck to Coach Polk. She said, "Coach Polk is an amazing person, an amazing teacher, and the kids love him. He is my best friend and like my brother." Congratulations Coach Polk!


We will have one more opportunity for seniors to take senior pics at BHS this fall. That day is October 24 from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM. Appointments are required.
